A Liverpool fan has died in Milan ahead of the club's Champions League clash with Inter Milan.

The 51-year-old man was found dead in his hotel room on Tuesday morning. The cause of death is not yet known, but police are not treating it as suspicious.

The man's death has cast a shadow over Liverpool's trip to Italy. The team is due to play Inter Milan at the San Siro on Wednesday night.
